AmCham Meets with FMS Head
Today, AmCham’s President and CEO, Andrew Somers, met with the Head of the Russian Federation’s Foreign Migration Service (FMS), Konstantin Romadanovsky, to agree on further steps in their continuing cooperation on the new law simplifying work-permit applications procedures for highly-skilled workers. Mr. Romadanovsky was also presented with AmCham’s annual “Friend of the Chamber” award for his significant contribution to simplifying work visa/permit procedures for foreigners.
Duma Representative Fedorov Speaks at AmCham Briefing
On Thursday, AmCham hosted a breakfast briefing with Evgeniy Fedorov (Chair of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship, and member of the RF Government Council for Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship and Commissions for Large Investment Projects and SME Development). At the event, Mr. Fedorov discussed legislation promoting business that was adopted in this spring’s Duma session, as well as upcoming legislation to be considered in the fall session, including legislation related to the Skolkovo project and the Customs Union.
AmCham Meets with Moscow Oblast Representatives
This week, AmCham met with key members of the Moscow Oblast’s government to initiate discussions regarding member-company logistic issues. AmCham Board’s PNTR Committee Meets
On Wednesday, the Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) Committee of AmCham’s Board of Directors met to discuss its strategy for the coming months.
Energy Committee Receives Update On Tuesday, AmCham’s Energy Committee met for a U.S. Department of Energy update on the Energy Inter-governmental Commission, given by Tyler Tiller (U.S. Department of Energy Attaché).
Taxation Committee Meets
On Wednesday, AmCham’s Taxation Committee met to discuss the results of a meeting with S.D. Shatalov and I.V. Trunin on transfer pricing issues, as well as the latest developments in changes to the tax law.
This afternoon, the AmCham Customs & Transportation Committee met for a meeting with Naomi C. Fellows (Senior Trade Officer, Economic Section, U.S. Embassy, and the lead official on issues related to Russia's WTO accession), who discussed some of the open issues that Russia faces in order to accede to the WTO.
