Governor and Chairman of the Government of Orenburg Oblast Alexei Chernyshev

   Alexei Chernyshov, 69, is a graduate of Orenburg Agricultural Institute and Academy of Social Sciences of the CPSU.

    Since 1962 till 1991, he worked in agricultural enterprises and Communist Party’s regional offices.

    In 1991-1993, he served in the legislative assembly of the USSR.

    Since December 1999, he has been governing Orenburg Oblast. He was reelected in 2003, and started his third term in 2005.

    The Governor is married with a daughter.
