AmCham Gears Up for a Star-spangled Celebration! The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia is throwing its 16th annual Independence Day bash on July 3, 2010. The Chamber will be working with the event's major sponsor, Coca-Cola, to make 2010's celebration an unforgettable event. The AmCham festivities constitute the largest Independence Day celebration outside the United States. In addition to one of Moscow's most extravagant fireworks displays, the day features musical performances by some of Russia's best-known bands, traditional American fare on offer from a variety of food vendors, sports tournaments and a special children's play area. Interactive Activities You will find several entertainment zones in various parts of Kuskovo Estate. Visitors can participate in interactive activities: throughout the day you will meet the super-heroes of well-known American movies such as Jack Sparrow and Spiderman; investigate and uncover crimes; search for treasure and solve mind-boggling riddles. First Smart Cross AmCham cup Smart Cross is a new interactive game that combines geocaching and classical quest techniques with the multimedia and communication capabilities of modern mobile computing. In Smart Cross, PDAs – little computers for big adventures – become both your friendly guides and independent judges. For a few hours, Kuskovo estate turns into an unknown, virgin territory, full of surprises, puzzles and undiscovered routes. Your goal is to find your way, be the first one at the finish point and win the Cup! To participate, you need to register your Corporate team at http://x-route.ru/cross.html. Super cake The Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya hotel will be serving up its annual hit, the quarter-ton super cake, which is usually eaten in less that 15 minutes! Raffle A raffle will be held at the end of the day for prizes provided by AmCham member companies, with the grand prize - 2 round trip business class tickets to any destination in the U.S., Caribbean or Latin America, courtesy of Delta Air Lines. Childrens Activities & Sports Tournaments While Mom and Dad check out the musical performances, kids will be busy at the kids play area. For kids of all ages, there will be sports tournaments, and AmCham member companies will square off against one another in volleyball, football and soccer tournaments. Individuals can also take part in a game of baseball or take a few swings in the batting cage. The celebration will end with an amazing pyrotechnic display, courtesy of Wrigley. Kuskovo Estate - Getting There The event's venue – the historic Kuskovo Estate - provides a scenic reminder of Russia's rich and graceful past. Kuskovo is the ideal location for a day of family fun and celebration. A free shuttle bus will take guests to/from Ryazansky Prospect metro station beginning at 3 p.m. and running until midnight on July 3. The bus will pick up / drop off passengers just past the city bus stop. (Exit the metro towards the last car of the train as it travels from the center.) Everyone is welcome! |
