Jan 15, 2008: Senator Chuck Hagel

Senator Chuck Hagel
On Tuesday, January 15, 2008, Senator Chuck Hagel (R, Nebraska) met with a group of business leaders from AmCham member companies for a roundtable discussion. The breakfast was held at the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski and chaired by AmCham President Andrew Somers.

The roundtable provided an opportunity for a frank discussion about the opportunities and challenges for American companies doing business in Russia. During the meeting, business leaders told the Senator about their operations in Russia and many highlighted the strong profits coming from these operations – in many cases significantly higher than those in other BRIC* countries.

Senator Hagel discussed his concerns and hopes for improved U.S.-Russian relations, and several business leaders expressed their hopes for improving the dialogue between the two countries.
