How do I apply for membership?

First you should complete a membership application form and return it to Membership Executive Elena Shainyan at: eshainyan@amcham.ru. In addition to the application form, you should submit a copy of your Annual Report or your company's most recent audit. Companies which have less than 25% U.S. capital also need to provide two letters of recommendation from AmCham member companies.

How much are membership dues?

Membership fees are based on the company's worldwide revenue. The following chart shows the fee structure.

Who can apply for membership? Do you have to be American or work for an American company?

Almost anyone can apply for membership in the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia. If a company has less than 25% American capital, then it needs to submit two letters of recommendation from AmCham member companies in addition to the application form and its annual report.

If my company has less than 25% American capital, what limitations does this put on my membership?

Non-Regular Corporate Members - including Non-profit Members, Affiliate Corporate Members (companies with a legal presence in Russia but less than 25% American equity), and Associate Corporate Members - receive the same benefits as American companies and are eligible to participate in all Chamber activities. The only exception is that Non-Regular Corporate Members do not have full voting rights.

How long does the process take?

Once the application, financial report and any recommendation letters are received, an invoice and contract are sent to the Potential Member company right away. Upon signing of a contract and payment of a membership fee, the company instantly becomes an AmCham Member with all the rights and privileges thereto appertaining. 

Are there any additional or one-time entrance fees? Are membership fees pro-rated for the first year?

There are no entrance or additional fees when a company or organization joins the Chamber. The company’s membership fee is calculated for a calendar year, i.e., for 12 consecutive months following the date of joining the Chamber.

How can we pay our membership fees?

Fees may be paid

  • through a bank transfer in rubles or dollars,
  • at the AmCham office - cash in rubles only or by charging it to an Amex, MasterCard, Mir or Visa credit card,
  • on-line via AmCham web site - by a MasterCard or Visa credit card.

Once we‘re members, how many employees can take part in Chamber activities?

AmCham events are open for all employees of your company unless otherwise specified. 
Your company may designate two registered representatives (Primary and Alternate members) who will receive the following benefits:

  • Opportunity to participate in the event "Business After Hours"/"Business Before Hours"/’’AmCham Social Networking” (the only event with limited participation)
  • Their contact information will be published in our Annual Membership Directory as the main representatives of your company
  • They will receive the Annual Membership Directory

Can my сompany’s subsidiaries and affiliate entities use membership benefits as well?

Member company must provide the Chamber with its Charter that lists which legal entities are officially affiliated with the head company in order to enable them to participate in AmCham as rightful members.

Are all AmCham member events free for me as a member?

All Chamber’s members are eligible to participate in Sectoral Committee meetings, Policy and Business Events free of charge. Some of the larger events (such as Investment Conference, Holiday & Awards Dinner and others) will have a special reduced price for members and a higher price for non-members.
