Nov 16, 2010: Best Innovative Projects To Be Awarded

The Government of St. Petersburg has launched a competition of cluster-based innovative projects. Winner project in the six nominations will be awarded RUR 3 mln each. Applications can be submitted on November 9 till 16, 2010, at Borovaya Ul. 26-28.

The competition held for the third time aims at supporting innovative projects ready to be implemented in St. Petersburg, as well as incentivizing innovative activities and stimulating demand for innovative products and services. It is only SMEs that can participate, as the competition has been particularly designed to support them.

Best projects will be selected in six nominations: IT, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, transport & logistics, environment protection, consumer goods & services, and municipal needs.

All the projects will be assessed by experts. The Expert Council's meeting will be broadcast online at www.konkurs-cluster.ru. By open vote, the experts will select nominees for the 3 mln awards. The awards are provided by the federal and city budgets on the 50/50 basis.

The principal selection criteria are: importance for St. Petersburg economy; economic & budget efficiency; business plan and technical specification development; as well as some other. The final stage of the competition will be held on Dec. 1. The participants will present their projects to the Award Committee who will select winners. At the Award Ceremony, a special presentation zone will be created for the innovations to be presented most brightly.
