Governor of Saratov Oblast Pavel Leonidovich Ipatov

Pavel Leonidovich IPATOV was born on April 12, 1950 in the village of Asbestovskoye of Sverdlovsk Oblast.

In 1969, he graduated from Urals polytechnic school, and in 1975, from Urals Polytechnic Institute. He received his academic degree in 2000.

He started his career at Kuznetsk Metallurgical Plant, followed by Slavaynskaya and Uglegorskaya Electric Power Stations, and South-Ukrainian Nuclear Power Station.   

In August 1985, Mr. Ipatov was appointed engineer-in-chief of Balakovo Nuclear Power Station, and four years later he became the general director of the station.

In 1996, he was elected as a member of the Balakovo municipal legislative assembly, and was re-elected in 2001.

Since March 3, 2005 he has been governing Saratov Oblast.     

The Governor is married with a daughter.
