AmCham played a significant role at the recent St. Petersburg Economic Forum

Dear Members and Friends of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia,

AmCham hosted a roundtable of Russian and American global CEOs with Minister German Gref and Ambassador William Burns. The purpose was to engage top business executives in both countries to commit to advocacy of Russian accession to WTO, the abolition of Jackson-Vanik and Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) status for Russia. A bilateral Chief Executive PNTR Working Group was formed to advance this important advocacy effort. The founding members are:

American:

U.S. Co-chair, David O’Reilly, Chevron
Boeing, Scott Carson; Citigroup, Michael Klein; Coca-Cola, Muhtar Kent; ConocoPhillips, James Mulva; International Paper, John Faraci; Pepsi, Michael White; PricewaterhouseCoopers, Samuel DiPiazza; Ernst &Young, James Turley

Russian:

Russian Co-chair, Alexei Mordashov, Severstal
IBS Group, Anatoly Karachinsky; LUKOIL, Vagit Alekperov; Russkiy Standard Bank, Rustam Tariko; Sukhoi Company, Mikhail Pogosyan; Troika Dialog Group, Ruben Vardanian; VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, Vladislav Tetyukhin

Additional American companies who have committed are: Dow, IBM and Motorola.

Strategy will be coordinated with the Washington PNTR Coalition of U.S. companies. We will keep you advised of developments.
