March 23, 2011 Conference “Concept for the Development of Accounting and Financial Reporting in Russia: What Next?”

On 23 March 2011 Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, KPMG and the National Accounting Standards Board hold the conference “Concept for the Development of Accounting in Russia: What Next?”.

The conference will be broadcasted live via the website http://www.teleforum.tv/kpmg.htm.

In 2010 the existing Concept for the Development of Accounting and Reporting in the Russian Federation for the Medium Term expired. Development of the new Concept will require widespread discussion at all stages of the drafting of the document. The goal of the conference is the development and initial discussion of the underlying parameters of the main trends of the new Concept. The following issues will be discussed at the conference:

• Development of accounting and reporting.
• Regulation of accounting.
• Regulation of accounting and auditing.

The ideas and proposals set forth at the conference will be systematized and included in a document that will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
